What is MindScreen?
MindScreen is an online self-screening tool for mental health conditions including ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and more. It uses adapted screening-style questions to help you understand patterns in your own experiences — and gives you a structured conversation-prep report you may choose to discuss with a qualified professional.
Is this a professional assessment?
No. MindScreen is a screening tool, not a diagnosis service. Only a qualified healthcare professional can provide a diagnosis. MindScreen results are meant to help you prepare for a more informed conversation — not replace that conversation.
Who made MindScreen?
MindScreen was built by a small team with a focus on making mental health self-screening more accessible. We use screening-style questions adapted from commonly used tools and research-informed domains. MindScreen is not a clinical service and does not claim equivalence to the full original instruments.
Is my data private?
Your answers stay in your browser while you are completing a screening. If you choose to save your result with an email, your answers and score are stored securely on our servers for up to 90 days so you can access saved results, vault history, and eligible paid reports later. Weekly check-ins can also be saved for up to 90 days using an email or valid vault link; timeline summaries hide private notes by default. Conversation prep can save user-written things to mention, questions, and personal notes for up to 90 days. We do not require an account or collect your name. We never sell your data. Payment is handled by Stripe.
What do I get for £2.99?
After completing the screening, you can view a free basic result first. If you upgrade for £2.99, the conversation-prep report adds a deeper interpretation of your response patterns, a category breakdown, personalized next steps, questions you may choose to discuss with a qualified professional, and a downloadable PDF formatted for your own records or appointments.
Can I share my report in an appointment?
Yes. Reports and conversation prep are designed as self-reflection materials you can print, copy, or share digitally if you choose. They clearly note that MindScreen is a self-screening tool and not a diagnosis.
What if I am in crisis?
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or are in immediate danger, please reach out for help now. Call or text 116 123 (Samaritans) or text SHOUT to 85258 — free, 24/7, confidential. If you are in immediate physical danger, call 999. MindScreen is not a crisis service.
How accurate are the screenings?
MindScreen uses adapted self-screening questions inspired by commonly used tools and condition domains. However, all self-report tools have limitations — your results depend on how you interpret and answer the questions. Scores are indicators, not certainties. A high score does not mean you have a condition; a low score does not mean you don't.
Is AI used in the report?
Some report text may be generated with AI using your condition, score, indicator band, category scores, and related saved screening data. This may involve third-party AI processing by OpenAI. AI text is informational only and is not medical advice.
How do refunds, exports, or delete-data requests work?
With a valid vault link, you can export a JSON personal copy of saved screening summaries, weekly check-in summaries, and conversation prep. To delete saved data, use the settings delete-data controls and confirm through a signed expiring link. Email support@mindscreen.co for refunds under the satisfaction guarantee. Stripe/payment records needed for refunds, tax, fraud prevention, or legal obligations may be retained separately.
Can I recover a paid report on another device?
Yes. Use the report recovery page and enter the email used when saving your result, saving a weekly check-in, or checking out. If saved history or eligible paid individual reports exist, we send a signed, expiring vault link. Bundle recovery remains separate on the bundle recovery page.
Do I need to complete a screening in one sitting?
Yes. Each screening takes about 2 minutes and should be completed in one session. While you are taking the quiz, your answers are stored in your browser only — if you close or refresh mid-quiz, you will need to start again. Once you submit your email to save your result, your completed screening session is preserved on our servers for 90 days.
